Salted Peanut Punch with Nutmeg

Coming to you from the single ray of evening sun cast on my yard after a terribly hot and humid day.

This homemade Peanut Punch, a traditional Caribbean drink, is a perfect base for some electrolyte action.

Ingredients

Electrolyte options, use one of the following
  • ⅛ tsp fine sea salt + ⅛ tsp cream of tartar (~300mg sodium, 125mg potassium)
  • ¼ tsp Celtic Sea Salt Pink Potassium Cave Salt (400mg sodium, 240mg potassium)
  • Note: This doesn’t involve a magnesium source, but I’ve skipped it since it’s generally so low in electrolyte formulations, but feel free to add a magnesium powder.
For the peanut punch
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1 1/2 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • Fresh nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Add ingredients and electrolytes into a blender and blend until fully smooth. Serve on ice with freshly grated nutmeg.
